“Typical duct systems lose 25 to 40 percent of the heating or cooling energy put out by the central furnace, heat pump or air conditioner. Duct repairs could be the most important energy improvement measure you can do.” U.S Department of Energy
Uneven temperatures throughout your home are a common problem with a simple solution. Temperatures that vary from room to room are due to air escaping through leaks in your home’s ductwork – these leaks prevent the conditioned air from flowing into your living space. Sealing your ducts will allow your system to properly heat and cool your home by keeping conditioned air exactly where you want it – giving you the ultimate in home comfort.
Reduce duct leakage by up to 95%.
Reduce your energy bills by up to 30%.
Reduce temperature differences between floors.
Reduce hard to heat or cool rooms.
Reduce dust, allergens, and pollutants
entering the air stream and living areas.
Extend the life of the most expensive system in
your home by reducing how hard it has to work.
3 out of 4 homes experience unintended
air entering into and out of the ductwork.
Duct leakage results in uneven air distribution causing
higher bills, reduced airflow, and comfort issues.
Untreated/unfiltered air from crawlspaces, attics and
other spaces goes into ductwork and enters the home.
Your system is forced to work harder
trying to get air where it is designed to go.
You want your HVAC system to last as long as possible – nobody is excited to go shopping for a new one! But if you do have that added expense, we have several financing options available. Once you have a high efficiency system, you expect to get what you paid for! SEER and AFUE are efficiency ratings – like MPG for a car. Much like if there were holes in your gas tank, if you have holes in your ductwork, your system won’t perform as expected.
If anyone in your home suffers from asthma or allergies, you want to make your home as healthy as possible. Pollutants like pollen, dust mites, mold, animal dander and dust are common triggers for allergies and asthma. Leaky ductwork in your home will force unhealthy air into your living space; unhealthy air from your attic, crawlspace, basement or even from behind walls. Sealing your ducts will eliminate entrance points for pollutants to enter your home and leave you with the healthy air you and your family deserve to breathe.
Every penny counts – so don’t let leaky ducts suck your piggy bank dry! On average, 30 cents of every dollar spent on heating and cooling is wasted because of leaks in ductwork. If your system seems to run constantly and if you have higher than expected utility bills, stop wasting your money! Sealing your ducts can help seal in the savings. It’s not only a no brainer, but Aeroseal sweetens the deal by offering a 10-year guarantee.
Guaranteed for 10 yrs. in residential applications. Based on testing, sealant has an expected life of at least 40 years.
Sealant is Non-Toxic and has been used in hospitals, schools, surgery centers, and government facilities all over the world. The sealant has been tested by an independent lab and found to have extremely low concentration of VOC’s, during sealing time only. The primary component has NO OSHA maximum exposure limit.
The primary component is Vinyl Acetate Polymer, used in water based paints, hair spray, and chewing gum.
Drying time is less than 2 hours.
There is a mild odor, like Elmer’s Glue, during sealing. Odor should dissipate by next morning (or before).
We prefer no one is in the house during sealing due to impact on productivity. If you are pregnant, senior, or infant, or utilizing medical equipment, we do encourage you to leave as a simple safety precaution.
Up to a 5/8” hole can be sealed during normal range of productivity.
Broken and disconnected ducts and large leaks need to be fixed prior to sealing. If a hidden large leak is uncovered during sealing, process is stopped and a solution is discussed.
Sealant escaping from the ducts will settle in wall cavities, attics or crawl spaces. During the process, we will filter the air to capture any sealant entering the living areas.
We recommend that sensitive electronics be covered.
Our technicians are trained to protect all accessories prior to sealing. Some items, such as humidifiers or UV lights, may be removed then reinstalled to prevent damage; others may be bagged or covered.
Extremely dirty ducts should be cleaned. We recommend the technician assess the condition of the ducts prior to sealing.
Ducts of all material types can be successfully cleaned after sealing.
